As well as relieving stress, massage therapy can also be beneficial for treating a variety of acute and chronic conditions involving muscles and connective tissues. These conditions can be due to stress, chronic overuse, injury or aging. The therapist uses a variety of techniques to reduce pain and improve function of the musculoskeletal system.
Massage and its related forms of bodywork are among the earliest healing modalities known to man, with written records of its benefits dating back as far back as 2000 BC.

Traditional Thai Massage
Practitioner: Lorraine Dredge R.M.T.
Traditional Thai MassageTraditional Thai Massage is an ancient healing art that has been practiced in Thailand for over 2500 years. It is still practiced in its traditional form and consists of a broad range of techniques including acupressure, reflexology, facilitated yoga and assisted stretching.
Thai massage increases the client’s range of motion and flexibility and relieves pain and muscle tension. The many therapeutic benefits can be enjoyed by people of any age regardless of their current levels of flexibility.
It improves overall well-being, energy, circulation and range of motion and flexibility. Thai massage is beneficial for many different conditions including headaches, arthritis, back pain, whiplash, fibromyalgia, stress and tension.
Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor while wearing comfortable clothing that allows the client to move and stretch. The movements and manipulations done by the therapist allow the client to stay relaxed, receiving greater stretching benefits than can be achieved on one’s own.
